2002 S6 Rear main seal leak
At 120K miles, it is finally time for me to address my transmission which is not giving me any problems aside from a small drip. Here is what I have been quoted:
PERFORM A DIFFERENTIAL AND TRANSFER CASE FLUID SERVICE 255.64
REMOVE AND REPLACE THE REAR MAIN SEAL 1,725.57
Sound reasonable?
Is there anything else that should be addressed during this service?

Additional thoughts
My takeaway lesson from this forum and a few others is that my best bet is to service my current transmission and use it until it fails and then replace it with a six speed manual at that time.
Does that logic still apply at 120K miles or is the labor required to drop the tranny better spent reinstalling a new one?
My other question was about project to lump in this while the transmission is dropped. Am I looking at anything down the road where the repair technique is "1st drop the transmission."
TIA
