2004 A6 4.2 ALMOST NEW - GOOD DEAL?
I have never owned an AUDI!. But I am looking at a 2004 A6 4.2 w/ Prem. Pkg, Prem Sound Pkg, Heated & Summer Pkg, Upgraded Wheels, Sirus Radio, Back up control, etc. The car list at 54,000 dollars and has only 1200 miles on it!.
Dealer registered car so it has 2 1/2 years remaining on Warranty and has always been in Dealer Hands as a DEMO. They will add Extended 2 year warranty to it for 2000.00 and want 40,000 total for the car after listing it at 45,000 and agreeing to add ex. warranty.
IS THIS A GOOD DEAL?...

what is the extended service contract called?
Did you read the contract?
Do you understand that even with the miles you are buying a 2 1/2 year old car?
KBB gives this a trade in value of 36,800 in the NY market. Out of NY is usually less.
You should get the car for with the Audi CPO Extended service contract. Or ask for the Audi Pure Prtection Platinum.. its a better program I believe.
IMHO you are getting an OK deal but with checkbook in hand and ready to give them money work the deal for less.. and always be ready to walk if you don't get your number.

Re: what is the extended service contract called?
He called it an AUDI EXTENDED WARRANTY that adds 2 years and 100000 miles at the end of the remaining 2 1/2 years left on full Mant. program. This is not PURE PROTECTION but 300 point inspection and they cover everything but wear and tear when it kicks in w/ 50.00 deductable.

This is called a CPO..Certified Prev Owned car..extended warranty...
Really a service plan..There is a deductible as you said. It does not cover everything but it is still a pretty good plan. Check the VIN number with audi corporate to get the service hisotry..just in case the car was purchased and then taken back in trade by the dealer.
Another part of the CPO is that they have to give you a signed copy of the inspection report, listing everthing they checked. Make sure you see it before you buy.
