Default Center Jack Point; front and/or rear

Do our cars have a center jack point for lifting the front or rear?
I usually put the jack stands at the side jack points and many cars seem to have a place to put a floor jack to lift the whole front or rear.

Any think like that on out C5 models?

Yes. Center is on the subframe right after the oil pan right before the trans pan. The rear just jack up on the bottom of the diff.

I don't need to do the front yet, so I will have to look at that the next time it is on a lift. The drawing I have of the part makes the center look a little "spindly" to be carrying all the weight.

I looked at the back, and it would seem a block of wood can easily span the mounting piece at the back of the rear diff and the cross member pieces it attached to.

That would seem a little safer then just the bottom of the diff (and/or the bottom of the diff mount)
(I am guessing a log of people are actually lifting from the diff mount and not the diff itself.)

Default Let me know what you find?

... I spend far too much time jacking under the pivot points for the F & R control arms - the known strong points where the frame bolts to the body, and the contorl arm bolts to the sub-frame. PITA, but safe.

Ended up under the rear diff and diff mount with a 2x4 on my floor jack.

I found my jack stands nicely cradled the rear suspension pivot points very securely.

Now that the rear brakes are done, I do have to put it up one more time as the rear diff is a bit wet (not dripping, but well coated). I am holding off on the axle seals, but want to top up the diff oil to make sure there is enough to go a year or so till I get to the seals.

Cheap insurance. Better a little extra work now than a bad diff later.
