Coil pack replacement & Valve body cover
Its that time, and my 02 2.7t needs the coil packs replaced. My valve covers are also leaking, right into my coil packs and spark plugs.
Before I order parts, I keep seeing this 2.0 conversion kit, I've read that it doesn't make any difference, its more cosmetic. Is this true?
Audi C5 A6 Quattro 2.7T Engine Ignition - 002686ECSKT - 2.0T Coil Pack Conversion Kit - Red Coil Packs - ES#2723130
I know mine are the bolt on (APB).
ALSO
When I replace my Valve body Covers, Should I be using RTV ? And how should I apply it? I did this replacement once before and now shes leaking again..

I had quite a bit of difficulty getting my new valve cover gaskets on my APB engine to stop leaking until I used a generous amount of Permatex Ultra Gasket. I applied a thick (1/8 inch) bead around the entire perimeter of the head, and additionally on top of the gasket at the corners.
As for coil packs, I use VCDS to figure out which ones are misfiring, then only replace those with used OEM coil packs. They are available for about $15 per pack and I have not purchased a bad one yet. As for cosmetics, those pretty red ones are hidden from view most of the time, especially if you are running engine covers.

Any other leaks pop up due to this? Maybe you had a breather hose that was clogged and too much crank case pressure?
