A6 2.7T suspension upgrade support.
Posted this question on "suspension tuning discussion board" with no response. 2000 A6 2.7T 6-speed used for my daily commute (including relatively mild winters). Want to do some suspension work to lower 1 to 1.5", while increasing wheel size to 17 or 18". Would like the new suspension to be firmer that the original (non-sport) but don't want to be loosing any fillings when encountering expansion joints on the highway. Which would be the better solution, Eibach Pro-Kit Spring Set with Bilstein HD Shocks, or something like the ST X coil-overs.? Plan to run standard 16" wheels in winter with all-seasons or Blizzaks.

ST, hands down. Rides nicely, allows you to adjust ride height. Good quality. I've even had fairly good luck running it on the track in advanced run groups, and its my daily driver. I personally think that 18" wheels are insane for a true DD BTW, but that's a trade off we all make. ( I run 16 x 8 x 35mm w 245/50-16 summer)
I guess you are either new or dont follow. I have posted extensive reviews (search), and there has been much discussion. Pretty much everyone likes the STs, although one or two have noted that they have a difficult warranty policy. That said, i dont know of any proven failures - only one claim that was never substantiated.
