A6 2003 2.7t Electric problem with secondary fan
Hello,
Not sure what's happening here, I have a parasite drain on this car since few weeks, did the testing and I get about 1.5 amp ( after shutdown). I knew my secondary rad fan was making lots of noise last year so I unplugged the connector ( under P/S pump black cover under hood) and than it dropped to about 0.035 amps so seems to be acceptable. After winter, I changed the fan as I thought that it was draining some juice even if was not turning but I have the same problem. I have about 1.5amp of parasite drain when connector plugged. Only way to get drain off is to disconnect ( The new fan doeas not turn when plugged in).
Any ideas
Thanks

When you said fan made lots of noise, did it sound like a jet engine? That's a symptom of a failed fan control module, since it defaults to the super high speed when it fails.
But the new fan does not run, even with A/C on?
I still suspect the fan control module. But only a hunch.
