Yes,.got a "beige" one from china for $30...incredible that Audi charges $260-325 for this part.

So now I can afford to look for the melange part.

When I get the beige part I'll probably try transferring the existing melange cover since I won't worry if it gets damaged.

Funny you should ask. I just got mine in the mail today from Amazon.
Brand new and real LEATHER, perfect fit and latches as it should for $15. You can get one for $8 if you dont mind leatherette.

Beige is definitely diffo from Melange…the leather is different as is the plastic backing. I've installed the beige one and it's fine with my wife so I'll let it go.

BTW, I was able to rip the melange cover off the broken melange plastic and I could/might resnap it onto the beige plastic backing of the new one. There was nothing wrong with the melange cover/leather, it was the hinge bit that was broken because wifey stuffs all manner of chit into the console!!

I should have mentioned that the true color is indeed Melange. The labled color of""beige"" is most definitely not accurate. Most likely, just laziness, or lack of knowledge, on the part of the seller.
""Beige""is just a more common color to most and it's quite possible that the seller never even heard of ""melange"".
The cover/lid that I received matches the interior color of my Melange A6, to a T.

I understand your point, though, that your leather cover is intact and therefore, servicable. When my Allroad armrest cover/lid hinge broke, I used JB Weld to solve that problem.
