APR ECU
I found an APR ECU with 91, 93, 100 octane and a valet mode from a 2001 A6 quattro. I have an 2000 model which does not have the immobilizer. CAn I run this ECU in place of my stock ECU? Looking for a tune ( stage 1 is my goal here) but the right one. Dealt with some dumb *** who had a REVO tune who loves to talk down to others. Guy pissed me off..no thanks. Anyway wondering if a 2001 ECU with an immobilizer will work with my 2000 Audi A6 2.7t? If not, what can be done to make it work....if anything???
Thanks guys

APR's a great company, I would give them a call. Explain to them that you bought an ECU with APR software but that you want to transfer it. I haven't dealt with them in a few years, but I can say a few years ago they were awesome.
I bet they'll tell you to find a regional tuner with the APR tools. Might cost you $100 or so bucks for him to copy over the licensing, but I'd say that's well worth it considering that APR software retails for $800, and they'd still charge you the $100 or so to flash new software as well.
I can't remember if the latest software requires new chip of it's it's just a flash of the existing chip. I know when I bought mine if 2006 it was an entirely new soldered chip, but I thought I heard some of that has changed since then. Anyway, give APR a call, that would be a good next step.

Works really well, easy plug and play with only about 15 minutes to swap them out (of which 10 minutes is spent on one hard-to-reach screw). LMK.
