Default Audi c5 2.7 down pipe ssautochrome

Hi everyone, my name is Juan and I owned a 2000 audi a6 2.7t auto. I just bought down pipes from SSAUTOCHROME, great customer service by the way. I have being looking and reading and finally pulled the trigger to make my car more fun to drive. I just installed the passenger side down pipe and it looks awsome so far. Will finish the driver side this week. This down pipes are biffy compare to OEM.

I have apr tune and upgraded diverter and just did the timing jod on it. This car is awsome and after the down pipe should be a beast. I want to say not enough room up there but it did fit perfect. Search every forum possible for the diy and want to say THANK YOU for everyone that posted downpipe diy info. Also I want to thank Richard from SSAUTOCHROME for the help in my decision and for suggesting to get equal length mid pipe. I don't post do to you folks already having the answer to my question, THANK YOU EVERYONE.

In my experience, the only way to access those bolts is by removing the heat shield. Of course, to do that, you first have to remove the EGT sensor.

It doesn't make it any easier that the small allen head bolts are usually corroded in place, and strip with an allen wrench. I ended up using a bolt extractor that just fit on the outer diameter of the allen bolt to remove the bolts.

(At the risk of blasphemy, I did not reinstall the heat shields when reinstalling the down pipes. No resultant damage so far.)

Remove the EGT sensor from the down pipe. Remove the two Allen bolts. Remove the heat shield. There will be swearing.

Default Ssautochrome down pipe with equal lengh mid pipe

I had a member ask me where I got these down pipes. See attachment. Remember these are for a tip tronic and are high quality with equal length mid pipe. These are different than the ones that other company are selling, they usually don't come with the same length mid pipe and these do.

Just finish putting on my downpipe and mid pipe. It looks awsome, still waiting for my 02 sensors. The install went well expect for my back and knucles. This downpipe fit perfect and the mid pipes fit perfect to the back exhaust see attach pictures. Will make a sound clip once I get the 02 sensors. Took pictures off the old down pipes. Remember that I have a tip Tronic so not much room but it fit perfect after I loosen the cross member. Thanks to SSAUTOCHROME for suggesting the equal mid pipe it was a freeze to install.

Default Kind of meaningless; more a function of muffler.

AT least without a comparison audio of the car before the downpipe.
I have to wonder if a stock downpipes(s) basically wouldn't sound the same.
