Will a 02+ gauge cluster work in a 00?
Will any 02+ gauge cluster with the rings work in a 2000 4.2? im assuming they will illuminate the same, white and red. Is it just a simple plug and play?

Re: how hard is it to swap out the gauge cluster? DIY? do U need a VAG to code it?
the cluster is easy to remove, two screws to undo, the there are three connectors that attach with clips. very easy. i was just doing the chrome ring mod and while taking the plastic off, i cracked a corner piece off. i still glued the rings on and i got a small smudge on the info screen. anyways, it still looks decent for now, but i would rather just search on ebay for a used 02+ cluster.

a vag and the secret key code from the dealer will be needed.
instructions from Ross-tech<ul><li><a href="http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/Immo2-cluster-swapping.html">click</a></li></ul>

How do i know if mine is a non-immobolizer cluster or not?
can i just swap it with another 00 cluster instead? i thought the car's computer also kept track of the miles and it would adjust it as well. SO the only way is to get the vag com tool?
