Default Brake Warning light

I just replaced the brakes on my 2000 A6 and now I have the Amber brake symbol as well as a flashing red Brake light. The fluid level is correct and all seems fine with the brakes working. Any suggestions on what could be this problem?

If these weren't flashing before you did something wrong or broke something along the way. The brake symbol in the LCD display (not the instrument panel idiot light that says BRAKE) comes on when the sensor in the brake pad is worn through and opens the circuit. If you put in new pads without a sensor the light won't go out. If you broke the wire the light won't go out.

If you pushed old brake fluid up the pipe to the ABS rather than bleeding the old fluid out of the caliper bleeder when you pushed the pistons back to install thicker new pads, it's possible the ABS system got crap in it and is hollering at you. If you broke the cap wire on the brake fluid sensor or the float isn't, the fluid level won't transmit and the red brake light will stay on.

Well after I repaired the sensor wires I still have a flashing red brake light. No idea what could be causing it.
