I recently had a on my water pump to my 2001 a6 C c5 and when they put the belt back on the camp pensioner started making noise and the chain started rubbing I'm trying to figure out what that is due to come the mechanic said it went before hand and never made a noise is it mechanic error or mechanical error? Anybody help me please

did the mechanic do anything related to the cam chains? They are completely unrelated to the waterpump and cambelt..

Yea if they didnt take valve covers off or do the chain tensioner gaskets, the timing belt wouldnt have anything to do with them. Might just be a strange coincidence.
