Should be Bank 1 intake cam sensor, inner cam on passenger side. It's on back of head and you should see connector plugs for both cam sensors sticking up. I believe you might be able to replace from top, if you get intake plumbing out of the way.

Not my engine, so just going from Bentley manual. Bentley directions on valve train servicing not clear, and they say " disconnect electrical harness connectors 1 and 2 at cam position sensor G40 and cam position sensor G300." In the diagram, they show connector 1 at outer exhaust cam, while G40 is identified as intake cam position sensor. I have a hunch that Bentley connector identification is out of order and the G40 is really the inner sensor.

They also show cam position sensor housing with 6 bolts(might be allen or torx). With any luck, you can remove the sensor from the housing by removing just the two located near the sensor, but perhaps the whole housing with both sensors has to come off.

Bro, you are my savior.

Would it it be possible if you could share the PDF from the Bentley manual if you don't mind.

Like you said, the sensors are locate it underneath the mas air flow. Passenger side, there are two, and this engine has 4. Now, which one is 1 and which one is two? The top being number one and the bottom as number two? As for me I went the g40 is on the top. I will provide pictures today.

Also, the sensors only have one Allen bolt and no more. Not sure where do you get 6 bolts from.

Please let me know your input thank you so much!

Also, a remote "maybe"... if you have a stuck solenoid on camshaft adjuster, it could erroneously report camshaft position error. In this case, the code for camshaft position sensor is real and valid but it is not the sensor's fault as its readings are not what the ECU is expecting. In other words, stuck adjuster solenoid would be throwing off the CPS and that would cause DTC.

Some reported reasons for camshaft adjuster solenoid to be stuck include oil sludge and particles (particularly broken pieces of small screen used to filter oil).

Again, may not be your issue but, this is a possibility.
