Default can you Identify this part

So my neighbor has a 2001 A6 and had his brakes done on saturday, Today he leaves for work and this was left in his spot. I have no clue what it is, and i'm trying to help out before he goes back to the shop after work. yes it's a bit bent as it was run over

you can see the attached picture, it's just a little over a foot in length.

any ideas? Maybe it's not even car related which would be really good.

Thanks...

I don't think that is related to the brakes on his car given the length.

yes, were pretty sure its too long to be brake related, but possibly somewhere else, then again only the wheels should have been removed to get to the brakes

Default Looks like a tool to hold the brake caliper up

instead of hanging it by the hose or setting it on the axle. I've also used a bungee cord or a coat hanger doubled up.

Here's one from OTC; they're like $12 a pair.

Looks like a "Double Hooked" Johnson Bar often mistaken with a Ferndock and rarely described as a Multi Angular Discumeblaff Rod, I could be wrong.

Just kidding!

Looks like as Sloop said to hold wires, hoses or cables in place like the one on my Chevy Express van that can see securing the parking brake cable.

I bet its audi special tool doublkrakefunkton . Worth about 1200 USD and brake job can not be done without it or it will void the warranty.
