Central Locking HELP!!!!!!
Hi There,
This is my first post so please excuse me if I am ignorant to some of the rules.
I have a 03 Audi a6 1.9tdi.
The problem with my central locking began when I noticed the key had split in my pocket. I thought nothing of it until I noticed the next day the Key fob stopped working.
Now the car will lock mechanically by the key but will only unlock the drivers door with the key which I believe is what it should do.
However the button on the inside of the door will only lock all the doors but will not unlock all the doors.
I have checked the wires from doors to car.
I have checked ccm for water, it is dry .
I have tried to reprogram the key.
I have taken battery off for period of time.
I have tried different locks in both front doors.
I have checked the Keyfob is sending signal(433)
When the alarm goes off when I open the car(because the Central locking is still on) if i press the button on the key fob the lights slow down-therefore I think the key is sending a signal and the ccm is recieving.
The funny thing is when I clear the codes with a Vagcom, the door button will then begin unlock all the doors until I turn the key in the door and then fault code key 01 comes up and then the doors will not unlock again but will lock.
The only thing I have not tried is to change the front door lock and then clear the faults but I have a feeling this should not matter?
Has anyone got any ideas to fix this or has anyone encountered it before?
Any help would be greatly welcomed,
Thanks,
Alan in Ireland

I had used a Maxscan Diagnostic on it, is this sufficient to scan this or not, I also was at a lock specialist yesterday and he used a laptop but it could not connect to the CCM, is that perhaps just the wrong version of software needed?
Thanks

If it came apart and broke or the battery fell out or what?
It should save its contact with the ccm (mine does when I replace the battery) but if something is broke in the key fob…..

Yeah it just split where the fob seperates to out the battery in, I just clicked it back together and still sends a signal out, I don't know if it's coincidence or part of the problem, maybe the doors always acted like this as I Always used the key fob to open the central locking

Hi there, Just to let you and anyone else with these symptoms know:
The problem with mine was the driver door lock is in someway faulty, my key went out of sync when it opened in my pocket and because of the faulty door lock I could not do the sync thats described in my manual, I had the key resynced with a proper diagnostic, I think its VCDS.
