Are these using the same parts for both V6s and V8s?

Yes. ST doesn't make an engine specific coilover for this model.

So which one would the spring rate balance, front to rear, be more correct for. Seems like it would be difficult to engineer precisely for both.

Actually it seems they only specify this coilover to the V6 models. But it will still install on the V8.
