I just finished going through the cooling system on my 200K mile 2001 A6 2.7T 6MT. In the process I determined that the V7 fan was dead, and my searches online returned prices that were between 300 and 200 for new and 100+ for used. I kept plugging away and found on ebay part number 8D0959455R, which does not show my car as a fit, but in fact it is a perfect fit, with the proper black oval plug. Best of all, the price was $55, and I received it in two day. Also, manufactured by Behr, a well known name in the cooling system business.

Just in case you need one, keep searching, it may save you a bunch.
