Default ESP on 02 S6 doesn't work?

Hi guys,

So I have an 02 S6, ever since I got the car pressing the ESP button it doesn't do anything.

Fast forward tip tranny breaks, I decide to do 6 sp swap. Now everything is fine, but the button still does not work except now sporadically the warning light will come on the dash without me initiating anything.

When it is off it's a blast doing 1st gear runs.

I bought another ESP button thinking the button was broken, but it was not.

Ideas, thanks?

Tom

Buy or borrow a VCDS/Vagcom to diagnose. Can't tell without a code scan. Wild guess is that it's the ABS module. Can be rebuilt without full ABS pump and module replacement. But could be wheel sensors, wiring harness issues, etc.

My guess would be a faulty or intermittent yaw sensor or connection thereto.
But you don't replace them without VCDS confirmation.
