No high speed? Thermal temp. Sensor doesn't control fan speed. Fcm does. But test fans to be sure they blow. If you could find the write up to test FCM I may have seen it on a different forum. I'll search for it if you're not already on them

I have read the write up about testing the fans for both speeds but not the one to test FCM function. Please forward the link.

I searched audiforum/ a6 c5/ cooling fans there are pages of people with your symptoms, one of those has the write up. This forum may have one if you take the time.

I have searched this forum multiple times looking for a definitive test for the FCM. I have read the same threads at least twice. I will concede you are a better person than I if you have found one.

I've seen threads about a DTC indicating a high speed function failure.

I've read about the fans running at high speed if the FCM fails. But I not read anything about the fans only running at low speed even though they will run at high speed if jumpered.

Is it to be inferred that if they will not kick up to high speed that means it is the FCM?

Other forums(quattroworld forum, audizine forum, Audi forum). Check Audi forum is where I've seen the thread. Keep search simple, click a6/c5 and search cooling fans. I just went through and seen a bunch. Some end up being fans some FCM. A couple have FCM test. I'm no too tech. Savy so I can't send links just where to search. Patience and a keen eye will get you there.
