Default Front cigarette lighter repair

I'm trying to get my cigarette lighter working it hasn't workers since I purchased the vehicle about a year ago. Does anyone have ideas or links to maybe DIY on how to fix this problem. The back one works but the front doesn't.

Probably different fuses for front and back. Owners manual should have fuse panel layout. Google may be big help for wiring diagrams.

Fuse 223 is used for both cigarette lighters. If the rear works, and the front doesn't, most likely cause is that the front lighter is disconnected. Check the plug at the back of the lighter (you may have to remove the radio and climate control module to access it.)

Is there a DIY for removing the radio and CC Module on here?

I couldn't find any topics on the forum but there are many videos on youtube.
Although, its not that hard. You have to pull out the radio with the radio remover tool and disconnect the radio. Next you have to remove the surrounding plastic around the radio and the CC unit, then there will be 2 screws on the top and 2 screws on the bottom holding the CC unit.

Then there should be two clips for the ash tray at its top.
(Although I didn't remove the astray just the radio because I replaced it and the CC unit because the buttons were sticky.)

I just got my front one working in my c5 I bought recently. The rear does not yet. The front one is FUSE# 33. It's a 15A reg size fuse. Not a mini. I don't smoke but charge my phone. Awkwardly there was no fuse at all in that spot and makes me wonder why. At least it's working now

I wrote a detailed article about it, with eight pictures, including of the tools needed. It's here:

Tech Article

It is probably too late for my article to help the authors of this thread, but perhaps it helps whoever needs this in the future.

And yes, I'm an official paying vendor, cheerfully announcing that I also sell these Audi Symphony main units in good, guaranteed, used condition, with matching radio code.

I have written a total of seven articles about the Audi Symphony main units. They're at the bottom of this web page:

Hunch that the fuse was pulled due to intermittent short in wiring to rear lighter. Wires not shorted now to rear or disconnected. I would check wiring to rear and I bet you will find the problem.

2003 Audi A6 Quattro. Got ash tray out. Came loose: Tiny circuit board with 1 LED for illuminating red band around lighter.
It appears that it might goo into slot on to p of lighter socket backing red plastic ring. Problem is it does not seem to fit.

Can anyone tell me if that is where it goes?

Robert
