2001 a6 2.7t overheating
My a6 has 140k on it now, had a timing belt, water pump, and thermostat done at 95k. I bought the car knowing it had an over heating problem, turned out that the engine side electric fan was shot...fan fell right off motor. so I replaced it...drove the car in about 25 degree weather and seemed to be ok, engine temp went to 12 0 clock and stayed there for a little while, then it slowly started to over heat to the point of having to shut the car down. I don't think its a head gasket but am leaning towards a clogged radiator now.. o and the heat in the car works fine so im sure its getting circulation from the waterpump... is the $123 radiator a good bet??????

Sounds just like the clogged radiator an Allroad had awhile ago, it had 120k on it. The inside of the cooling system was lined with pink G12 residue and the radiator appeared to be full of pink muck. I notice the coolant will turn chalky pink crumbles when it dries out on the floor. Not sure im a very big fan of the stuff but I still always use genuine Vw/Audi brand coolant in everything VW Audi.
