I have an 02 A6 and I never noticed any movement at start up. does this mean I do not have Xenons and if so how do I manually adjust them? Or do I need a laptop with software to do that? Thanks!!

The only thing that vagcom/VCDS will do is check the module or adjust the Range Limit and that depends on what version "PR Code" you have.

It depends on the PR code option, it has been posted before and I believe there are six or seven versions. Search the forums, it's been covered.

A PR code or codes are what equipment and options your car has, you can find the factory sticker in the spare tire wheel well or in the owners manual, once you find this you can use this link to decipher the codes PlanetVAG.com - VW & Audi PR Code Search
