Default How to disable alarm system

About 3 weeks ago my alarm started going off randomly. I took it to my indy and they told me there was a fault in the trunk switch and the left drivers door switch. They replaced the switches and the problem was fixed. or so I thought. Now the alarm is going crazy again. I took it back to the indy and no faults. the interior monitor is reading ok. I am at the end of my rope. does anyone know how I can just disable the alarm. As long as the car locks I am fine with no beep.beep.beep.beep. No body looks or helps when it sounds anyway, right?

Normally I'd say you should post this on your home forum, but you do have a C5.

Default No issues starting? Could it be your battery...

This is common in aftermarket systems, if the voltage gets to low it trips the alarm. I know Nissans do it as well. If there's a drastic change in voltage somehow, that could do it. Dome light, phone charger, faulty audio equipment.... I know our cars log "low voltage" but that's only while the car is running to monitor the alt. I don't think it monitors w/ the car off....someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Default That doesn't mean anything, the battery could still do it.

My last Optima Dry Cell died in 4 days! What a POS, quality my a$$! I'm just making my best edjucated guess. If it were me I'd throw another battery in there just to test it out. Swap the battery out of another car, just for the night. You never know. I understand it's a factory system as well, that's why I noted Nissan. Nissan uses the same immobilizer system as our Audi's do so that's why I compared.

Isn't there a way to tell with vag-com what is triggering the alarm?

Default Does your car have the interior monitor disable switch...

like my 2000 4.2 does on the driver's door jamb. If so, try pushing that each tine you exit and see if it then stays quiet. If so, look for an issue with the interior monitoring loop nonetheless. You can turn the sensitivity of that down with VAG COM.
