how to find TDC
How do you find TDC on the Audi A6 2.7t?
With my current compression readings, I was below 10% on the passenger side on 2 cylinders. My highest readings were @ 120 psi, 2 were 90psi.
I've seen here compression test as high as 180 per cylinder, yet we could have been using completely different gauges, so hard to tell.
I plan on doing a leak down test and need to find TDC on the 2.7t, looking for help. Also need to know which cylinder is #1 and firing order.
Thanks

TDC is when mark on crank pulley lines up with mark on plastic cover AND large holes on cam securing plates face each other (on inside). Use crank pin to lock crank. Easy with engine out.
firing order 1-4-3-6-2-5

Thanks for the reply. Chevy guy and I've never worked on any German cars. Currently pulling the engine due to a bad torque converter. Turns out, I need to rebuild my engine and turbos too. I knew my turbos were bad, but had no idea my compression was so low. I had an average of 120 psi in all cylinders but two had 90 psi. I"m gonna re ring it, plasti gauge the mains and rods and if they need some lovin, it will be a full rebuild. Engine will be out in a few days. Thank for the reply, just purchased my bently and found the firing order.
Thank you again!
