Blauparts.

Shows BMW, Jag, Landrover and strange fill plug on side of trans.
AFAIK the drain and fill plugs on my S6 trans are on the bottom.
Too bad our Audis drain and fill from the bottom. Side fill to a given level is so much easier.

eBahn says 5HP24, but initial fill still 9.8L and refill 3.8-4.0L.

Yep the fill is on the pan, I was just under it a bit ago, pan gasket is leaking (Im guessing this has been an issue because it has at least 2 kinds of bolts holding the pan on for some reason), and if I'm correct that the center Diff is directly behind the transmission, it is leaking too, and at least one rear outboard cv needs grease and a new clamp at a minimum and maybe a rebuilt. Other than that the under side of the car looks great!

You can see pics etc in my other thread just below this one

If the fluid is low and the fluid change "fixes" the TC issues then i will do a fluid change again in a few thousand miles for sure. If the TC issues persist, then I will be shopping for parts to do a 6MT swap

Some people have reported good results with Redline D4 fluid and torque converter issues. It contains additives that cause seals to swell and seal better.

I'm guessing that my issues is actually low fluid... I will know more in a few days but the PO has obviously had issues with the transmission pan leaking before and maybe throwing bolts? There are several bolts that have been replaced with different bolts (not sure if the threads are the same I will see when I pull them off in a couple days when a few more parts get here) but the pan is wet at the front and back so I'm sure it is/was leaking and is low on fluid. There was a Drip of fluid hanging off the center Diff when I got it up in the air too.

I have read some people say they specifically picked up the rubber gasket for the pan due to leaking, it is all of $4 at Napa, is this a good idea? What about using some high temp Rtv or form a gasket type sealant also? What about lock tite on the pan bolts?
