Key Fob Problems
My wifes fob quit working. So I replaced the battery and it still doesnt work. I fooled around with it and discovered that one of the pins was a little bent. I decided to take the battery out of my 2nd fob and with the battery tray from the second fob I connected them to the first fob. It still doesnt work. I reconnected the good working fob back together and now it doenst work. What the hell??? Do the fobs lose their code when the battery dies or is disconnected? If so, how do I reprogram the fob. Car is an 2003 A6 quattro.

Re: Key Fob Problems
yea I guess it did need reprogramed. I found the instructions on another site and it worked fine. Every other fob I have ever had would keep the programing but these dont for some reason. Anyway..thanks for the heads up.

You're welcome. BTW, if you replace them before they go dead (like I did) then...
you prolly won't need to re-program the fob. As soon as it gets a little sluggish, replace 'em...much easier that way
