Missing/Hesitation Issue 2000 Audi A6 2.7T
Received the following two codes
2 Faults Found:
16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70)
P0102 - 35-00 - Signal too Low
17861 - Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor 1 (G235)
P1453 - 35-00 - Open or Short to Plus
Readiness: 0010 1101
Talked to my european mechanic and he said it is the MAF sensor and that was what was throwing the EGT error, so I replaced and still misses/hesitates but only get this code.
17861 - Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor 1 (G235)
P1453 - 35-00 - Open or Short to Plus
Any ideas, before I replace the EGT. I hate to replace an expensive part and does not fix the issue, and also where is the best place without getting to hurt financially. Thanks

Do you have a VCDS? if so can you do a run and log shoot I havent had to do it for years, back in my TDI days.... basicly you want to log MAF requested vs MAF actual, this will show what your ECU is thinking it is receiving for airflow vs what it is requesting.
Im sure a quick search will tell you what measurement blocks to use. Or someone on here that has done this recently can tell you. Otherwise try unplugging the connector from the MAF and drive a big and see if that helps it is possible that you received a bad MAF.
Unplugging the MAF connector wont "fix" the issue but it should change the behavior as teh ECU will go to a safe default value.

For parts, try ECS tuning... they have OEM parts reasonably priced. Sounds like a wiring problem to me.. Though if you replaced the MAF and it fixed that problem, then it sounds like the EGT is bad too.

Let me ask another question
Would the car feel like it is missing just because of the EGT, the reason I ask is because I looked at previous scans and noticed that DTC error code has been there for months and never has never missed/run rough until the last couple of weeks. Thanks again.

I would check all your vacuum hoses. While EGT could be a problem, the fact that you are feeling misses without a code, may suggest a vacuum leak. Fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose can cause that issue. Also check throttle body boot for splits under the hose clamp.

Ok I replaced a ignition coil and it fixed most of the missing
but.... So, I replaced the MAF sensor but am still getting a "miss" when accelerating betweeen 30 to 50 mph. Seems like it does not happen at lower RPMs. The only code pulling for the whole scan is this:
17861 - Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor 1 (G235)
P1453 - 35-00 - Open or Short to Plus
Would this cause a "missing feeling" every once in a while.? Thanks
