VONBOTTLE

so i don't post much i here anymore since i got the S6, but still have the A6 at the moment as i'm hesitant to unload it, anyway, one of the center mufflers is hanging from the flex joint as the connection to the pipe leading to the resonator rusted out, was being held in place with a couple clamps as a stop gap but finally gave way - as brought to my attention from a a guy on a motorcycle last night that sparks were coming from underneath the car......certainly explains why the car sounds like a harley, anyway, has anyone replaced these mufflers with just straight pipe? if the muffler shop can't weld a section of pipe to the muffler for some reason, i'd rather not have to buy new center mufflers for a car i'm hoping to unload in the near future. if you've done a pipe replacement, how did it sound? honestly, the section of pipe that broke has been like swiss cheese for a year or so, so it's been fairly raspy anyway, so if anything it'll probably be a little less loud, but just curious if there was much difference before and after? thanks
