Yes, not that difficult to replace. Just takes a little patience and disassembly. There are several write ups on oxygen sensor replacement just do a search you'll find lots to pick from.

Bummer, I'd start checking for vacuum leaks then. Do you have vagcom? Are you certain that cylinder 5 is the consistent culprit with an additional random misfire on other cylinders? I am currently hunting a vacuum leak down from somewhere in the engine bay. Slight squeaking sound under full throttle/boost and the only code I have is random misfire. Sorry that the o2 fix didn't solve the issue. Keep looking!

I called it a 'mooing' sound. Occurs when boost is building (I have larger turbos, etc.).
I got rid of a similar sound on B6 A4 1.8T with APR R1 (bladder type) DV by changing the orientation of the DV. After that success, I did the same on the 2.7T (Forge=piston DV), but no change.
Today, I have a 'smoker' here to see if I am dealing with a boost or vac leak.
OP: Misfires: if swapping plugs and coils does not move the misfires: try swapping injectors.

Unless Canada has a left-side driving enclave for Brit expats, Canadian-spec cars are Left hand drive, same as US cars.
