Aside from the sage advice already given, its hrd to say. Let's say the damage to car #1 is a single turbo. As i understand they must be replaced in pars, and cost about $2000/pr. Installation is a big job.

Now, the 2.7t is a more durable motor than the 3.0, and is likely still strong. But what else needs attention? Timing service ( way more than a belt) - required every 75k or so? Done? front suspension? You dont mention the tranny type - big difference in durability. you simply need to take account of the car's other condition.

As to car #2 - same question: what else is needed. The 3.0 is not the most popular motor with many here. Same questions about timing belt, control arms, tranny etc.

I know nothing of the oil pump or tensioner. As to external belts, i know only of the water pump driven by the timing belt, but clearly you wont confuse water with oil, so i cant be very helpful.

Since oyu apparently had it apart you should have a better view of condition than any of us can.

If you would like to fix the 2.7t easier you can get a sure running motor from audis4parts.com. I do believe they have a complete BEL in stock. If I remember Phil says they sell BEL long blocks with turbos for about $1400 plus shipping. (roughly $250 shipping) $2450 for a running S-line isn't a bad deal at all if you have time to repair it.
I bought my APB motor from them. But I also had 2 working BEL turbos from my 04 S-Line that I am fixing. APB turbos will not fit on a 03-04 Triptronic so I had to switch them.

The 3.0 is not as desirable like Just Me said. I would part it to cover the repair for the 2.7t and have a great car that is fun to drive.
