No kidding. Never knew that. Wonder if it's easier to steal a car with a remote starter. I suppose if they have rolling codes, there's some barrier.

I've installed them in all of my service vans over the years and non-Audi cars, with no key in the ignition the steering wheel is locked, the gear selector is locked and as soon as brake is depressed the engine stops until I put the key in and advanced to the on position then the ignition RFID key takes over.

No rolling codes just a IMMO interface to emulate the early GM pass-key system resistance value or amplify the RFID signal with a known valet key, I vowed to never do this with an Audi, some say "it works" I say good luck for now.
