Default New to me 2000 Audi A6 Quattro

My son is getting my dads 2000 A6 Quattro 2.8.
It has about 125K miles and has been reasonable well maintained. Although my dad is no car guy, and is cheap, so it has not been to the dealer since the warranty was up.
He has used a combination of a local trusted mechanic for normal stuff and a well respected German Indy shop for anything he thought was a big issue.

So, what am I in for?

Is there a high dollar service that comes due after 100K miles that might not have been done?

Are there any typical issues I should be looking out for?

If you have maintenance records, get them and check for the following:

Timing belt, water pump, thermostat, valve cover gaskets, various oil leaks, etc. etc.

Fuel filter.

If automatic, flush transmission fluid and replace transmission filter.

And this is for a car with no problems...

Agreed with the rest, but just change oil and filter on the trans. No flushing.

I hope to get records. (hard to tell with my dad, sometimes keeps stuff sometimes doesn't).

When is the normal timing change (don't have the manual in hand yet?)

Are the transmissions a weak point on these cars? Any cautions about changing the transmission fluid?

In general the car has been relatively trouble free. (Truly is a grocery getter and occasional long trip car.)
They had about $1500 to $2000 of work done about a year ago, but not sure what was done. His wife mentioned and oil leak was fixed.
Other than that I have only heard about tires and brakes.

Timing belt at 90K miles. It is an interference engine.

Tiptronic trans is more problematic than a manual trans. Then again, I have a tip with 271K miles that is still alive...

OK, well hoping the Belt was done. (Don't think the Specialty shop would have let him skip that. (hoping, hoping, hoping)

As for the trans, I did not realize they were tiptronics.
My guess is it has never been manually shifted in its life.

If you know the shops that he was using, they may have some records too.

Yep, that is on the list.

Looks like it is $3000 with a $1000 "Present from Grandpa" discount.

So $2000K for a well maintained 2000 A6 Q.

Sound good?
