Default new owner question...

Hey all, I just bought a 2000 A6 2.8 quad and when I turn the car on the door chime continues for about four minutes then stops. When I cut the lights on its a continues tone for about a minute then goes back to the door chime. What causes this? I like the car but damn if that is not annoying lol. Can I disable the chime or is it a common problem with an easy fix? Thanks for the help.

These problems 99% of the time can be diagnosed with Vag com/VCDS, more than likely you have a problem with the door latch switch, a door is not fully closed or a faulty convenience group module....it's hard to tell without the right tools or who had their hands in it before you.
