Looked at Bentley manual. Only showed 2.7 as separate temp sensor in oil pan. That said, many VAG cars have round dual purpose sensors. I would get under car and see what's connected to oil pan. Then unplug and clean any connectors. With any luck, cleaning might solve issue. If not, probably dealer part.

The oil level sensor is available aftermarket. I have no experience with the oil temp sensor, but it's worth a shot.

^^^ +1.

Try this:

Drain Oil, if you can, remove the sensor and clean it with carb cleaner, spray and clean all electrical connections. Put it back, fill oil and see if it goes away. If not, you'd have to do check/troubleshoot the sensor as per manual.

Gauge won't/shouldn't go bad so easily (yes, there maybe exceptions but not the norm). Most likely sensor/electrical/wiring~any fuses etc.
