Default Which option code for brakes

Hello. I'm trying to order new rotors and pads for my wifes 03 A6 Quattro AWD (3.0 V6). I took a picture of the options sticker that is located in the spare tire wheel well but don't know which code is for the brakes. Anyone know which one is for brakes? I tried looking through the forums before posting but i didn't see any info. Thanks in advance!

Just pull a couple of wheels ( are you doing front, rear or both?) The rotors usually have the part number stamped into the rotor on the raised "top hat" portion on the outer surface. Pads may have visible part numbers on the metal backing. Front brakes may require either 8 pads (2 inner, 2 outer per side) or 4 depending on the caliper being used. Rears should be 2 pads for each caliper.

I'm doing the rear now, but probably the front down the road. I'll pull the tires and see if i can find a part number. But if anyone can identify which code on that pic i posted is the brakes i would appreciate it. I needed to know the option code for my Pontiac's brakes recently to purchase replacements to so i would still like to know in case i run into that down the road. Thanks!

I believe the "1KD" is the option code for the rear brakes. I will see if I can define that better.

Best I can come up with is to call Audi dealer or parts house with the 1KD info and see what the list. Otherwise take measurements and go that route if you can't find part number on the old rotors.
