Did you check for codes? Not sure if it would help... but O2 sensors can be monitored by VAG-COM (did this a long time ago do not remember that actual procedure) check the manual
P1122 and P1140

Neither was there before the accident (ice slide into a guard rail), and both were there on first start after replacing the radiator.

Did you check the connectors and wiring? They should be mounted on passenger side firewall...

I will take a look.
Damage was to passenger front corner, but nothing touched back by the firewall.

Found a big dent in the O2 sensor.

Why does the FWD have a different sensor then the Quattro (found some cheap, and wondering why they would not work)?
