Default Rear Parking Sensors not working :(

Dear friends,

Since I bought the car (A6 C5 Q 2.5TDI Auto), the reverse parking sensors (original parking sensors) are not working nor making any beep when put in reverse with ignition on. I also checked for the click when in reverse but no sound of life ever heard.

I saw the ECU module in the left rear side of the boot as in the picture. It is connected correctly as I see by eye.

I have no navigation system so I don't have fuse #17, checked also fuse #5 and it is fine.

Can you please help me to solve this issue? Does the module has a fuse by itself? What can I check else?

Thanks in advance...

VAG-COM is your friend.

If you need one, I probably have a module.

I don't have possibility for VAG-COM unfortunately.

I am looking for what to check to find out what is wrong, maybe the module gets no power.

Can someone tell me what to check and finally know if it is module problem or sensor's.

Any clue is much appreciated.

If a sensor is faulty, usually you get the constant tone. Might be the speaker (located under the rear shelf). Really the only way to properly diagnose this is with a VAG COM. If you reach out to the regional forums, someone local may have one.

Thanks for your reply, can you please describe better where is the buzzer located. I don't understand very well "under the rear shelf". Can you please show some kind of picture to illustrate its position?

Thanks in advance.

ok, seems difficult to remove the shelf cover so no way to reach the rear buzzer this way. I read somewhere that there is also a front buzzer behind the radio in the dashboard.

But can it be possible that both don't work?

Thanks.

No, there is only one buzzer for the rear parktronic. You can find detailed instructions on how to remove the rear shelf in the AW tech article here: https://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec148.shtml
