low TEMPERATURE pads contribute to deposits - as ai noted - its HEAT - you get lots of and inconsistent melting which then deposits uneven material on the rotors. Or so i think.

There are no low-dust high MOT (max oper temp) pads.

Is this because the lower dust pads contribute to the rotor deposits?
I've been using Hawk HPS pads on both 2K4.2A6 and 02S6 (4.2) for over 10 years…the OEM pads on the A6 were changed to HPS after about 66K miles (was covered under OEM warranty when they covered pads, sadly, Audi no longer covers brake pads and rotors under new car warranty…wear item) and the S6 were changed about 100K. I have over 180K on the A6 now and over 125K on the S6…no brake squeal when coming to a stop.

I tried HP+ on the S6 rears…they dusted like crazy and wore quickly, no rotor damage, but no squeal. Went back to HPS and they dust less than OEM and they don't squeal.

About all I can say is you'll have to bed the HPS correctly and use them hard once in awhile. Rotors/pads should not squeal.
