Rotor quality replacement strategy
#11
low TEMPERATURE pads contribute to deposits - as ai noted - its HEAT - you get lots of and inconsistent melting which then deposits uneven material on the rotors. Or so i think.
There are no low-dust high MOT (max oper temp) pads.

Been using low dusting pads since OEM's were replaced 12 yrs ago. I tried a set of Hawk HPS's a few years back and they squealed like a stuck pig when coming to a stop. I've been using PBR's for the last few changes. Calipers slide freely and I have lubed the pins. Use copper anti-seize on the pad/caliper contact points. So you're suggesting Textar or some higher dust OEM equivalent?
Is this because the lower dust pads contribute to the rotor deposits?

I tried HP+ on the S6 rears…they dusted like crazy and wore quickly, no rotor damage, but no squeal. Went back to HPS and they dust less than OEM and they don't squeal.
About all I can say is you'll have to bed the HPS correctly and use them hard once in awhile. Rotors/pads should not squeal.
