Default Wheel tire combo

What's the bests wheel tire combo and offset for a 2000 a6 c5 4.2. Have 16s on it with 245 50s. But there is a lot of wheel well to fill up on this car. Don't want to lower too much.

This forum isnt too into answering questions like this. They are more tech guys. Go to VWvortex for something like that. But if you want less wheel well the only way is to lower it unless you want a donk. The bigger the wheel the higher off the ground your car is. Ya you might have less wheel gap but you will look lifted.
Get some ST coils. 800$ on ECS

You're fighting a losing battle. As you oversize a wheel/tire, half of it is below the axle, raising the car even more. Lowering does the visual trick, and also improves the center of mass. You are already 2.8% over-sized ( i have 245/50-16s on my S6)

My car is another 15-20mm below factory sport and still is very street-able, goes in snow, etc. ( and rides well)

Offset is not something to play randomly with. You might reduce it by 5 or 10mm but no more or steering geometry gets bad. I run 35mm. 30 probably OK.
