Default Sound system installation

Hi guys. Quick question. Is it possible to install a proper sound system in a 2002 Audi ? It has the RNS-D Navigation Plus and I'm not sure how I'll connect everything to it(newbie here).

My plans are to get a proper subwoofer and amplifier. Probably won't change the speakers.

Any tips appreciated!

Yes it is possible. There are wiring harnesses that will allow you to put in a head unit without cutting any wires, and use the factory amp and speakers usually Metra makes good ones to fully use the factory amp etc you will need 2 wiring kits (hint use Crutchfield's site, put a radio in your cart and it will tell you exactly what fit kits(s) and wiring kits you need, then you can shop around and usually find the radio and kits A LOT cheaper elsewhere). you can then buy a device like this
Amazon.com: PAC LC-2 Line Output Convertor with Remote Volume Control: Automotive Amazon.com: PAC LC-2 Line Output Convertor with Remote Volume Control: Automotive
and hook iit inline with one pair of your speakers.... it will now give you signal for your sub.

They're toast after 13 years. Have someone, preferably unbiased younger female, listen to them…they can hear stuff we can't hear anymore.

Infinity 6030CS kits' speakers fit in easily…without the crossover, and the tweeters fit in the stock S6 tweeter surrounds.

I would agree 100% that the speakers are most likely toast, but if the OP didn't want to replace speakers I wasn't going to go down that route :P The Intiniti's fit in the rear deck of my old S4 and sounded GREAT and for about $100 a pair were a HUGE improvement and work great with the factory amp etc

If you're going down the route of a new deck and sub. drop $200 more on 2 pair of Inifiniti 6030cs kits and do like SloppyJohn said it should pretty much be plug and play and it will be a huge improvement on the sound quality.
