Default swapped plug & coil still misfires

2000 A6 2.7 has a misfire in #5. Swapped coil with #6, still missing in #5. Swapped #6 plug into #5, still misfire. What is next? ICM? Plugs have less than 20,000 mile and look fine.

Swapped ICM and it moved to opposite side. #2 Problem solved. Replaced one ICM last year. Time for the 2nd one.

Sounds like it... Probability in decreasing order:

1) Coil
2) ICM
3) Plug
4) Injector

VCDS really helps to narrow it down.

If the ICM swap made the misfire move to the other bank, than you've found the culprit: the ICM. Easy swap-out (about the easiest fix on these engines).
