I have an '01 2.8l. It's hard to explain but there's a sort of ticking and somewhat squealing noise coming from the engine. When it ticks It sounds as if something is lose and is hitting something. Kind of like a belt or something. The smoke it creates isn't like leaking fluids it's thick and white, like from friction and smell as if the car was about to catch fire.

Side note: I had a coolant leak I was about to getting diagnosed next week. I don't know if that would have anything to do with it
