Default Transmission problem?

I've noted that every time I accelerate on my A6, espec./only from a stop position, there seems to be some disturbing jerking/rattling movement. This seems to coincide with the rpms dropping, I guess when the automatic gearbox switches gears. I'm not a car expert, but I guess this is a problem with the transmission disks? No probs during driving.
I'm going on holiday in 2 days, but need to pick up something prior to this, which involves 2h driving.
1) any suggestions of the cause of problem? transmission? oil there?
2) is it ok to drive another 2h before getting it into a garage? (I know nothing is 100%)

My guess is probably the torque converter. They are a weak link in the transmissions. They are not fun to change and can be pricey for a shop to do.

If you haven't had the transmission fluid and filter changed in the last 50K miles, have it done.

Audi fibs.

ZF designed and built the transmission and says 50K t0 80K and/or 8 years.
