Default Removing right side inner fender

I replaced the secondary air injection hose (which had a hole in it) but I am still getting the 178312 17819 codes. I suspect I may have pinched the hose somewhere which may be the reason the new hose has not solved the problem.

Would like to remove the inner fender to get a better view of things. Wondering if there is any good technique to this?

I have a 2003 A6 4.2

NO good one..just remove all the fasteners and take it out. Have to take off the wheel.

Let me know if you hit any issues.

I will be doing the same at a pick-your-part yard next week.

(Hoping it is on solid ground since I have to pull the wheel)

old liners are often bad I would just buy a new one online from china or aftermarket. google the p/n and be done.

I did not realize they were so inexpensive. (About $24)
I might go that way, except I still need screws and would love to have the factory ones. (Free if I get at the recycler)

free is good, generally recyclers sell at ½ OEM price but probably give them to you with the fender liner.
ECStuning.com has the fasteners as well as the $%#$ plastic inserts that gozinta the square holes. Most of the time I can't get the old ones out so I just shear them off with a chisel and poke them through and then insert the new ones.
The OEM torx fasteners are purty!

The recycler is a "pick-A-Part" place so screws will be free for sure.

The liner is about $6 there.

Yea, I need a few of those plastic screw holders.

Anyone know what part number those stupid little clips are?

Just go to ecstuning.com and search/find a fender liner fastener kit, some of the options should be to just buy the inserts.

ECS is $20 for a 10 each screws and clips.

Just ordered 50 clips for well under $10.
If I don't get enough screws, I'll deal with that later.

Lets see, if I carry a T25 short driver in my pocket, and get one screw from each VW I walk by, I'll have a set in no time.

Bet you can't even tell when only one screw is missing. LOL
