I only have the original key. Just wonder since I took the toggle switch off not sure why it was on there. If it is the reason car won't start. And can I get a replacement key fob.

Does you car start?
Did it start before you physically removed the toggle switch?
The toggle switch is simply a bypass for the car alarm/starter. When it is removed, the car will not actually start. Simply reinstalling it and then turning off the switch will allow you to start the car normally, but not auto-turn on the features such as remote start.
As for replacement fobs, do a search and you will find PLENTY of options.

Yea. It started everyday. I got a car I am trying to restore. Love the car and it has had a lot of hands in it over the years. Just trying to get advice. I appreciate your knowledge and advice. I hooked the wires back up and it's on the charger now. See what happens. Thank you very much. Need to get this starting issue resolved so I can change tranny oil and filter. And I don't know much about German vehicles. Thank you again for the help.
