Wheel/Suspension Set-Up HELP!
Need some help from the A6 experts! I am a brand new used Audi owner ('02 A6 3.0 2WD, 35k) and would like to set up a nice looking, great handling commuter. In the next two weeks I will purchase 1)wheels, 2)springs/dampers, 3)various suspension components. This forum has been extremely educationl/informative and has answered most questions, but I was hoping to clarify:
1) What is the proper wheel offset for this car? I have seen ET30, ET35, and ET45(43,42)discussed for 4.2 and 2.7T's, but what about 3.0's? I suspect it has to do with fender flare, but is there anything more to it? I dont want to roll the fenders or remove wheel shroud bolts. I want to buy 18" RS6 replicas, but the AAA website lists 8.5" wide ET30s only - will this wheel jut out too much? Is this wheel too wide? Where can I get 18" RS6 OEM or replicas that will fit?
2) Is the H&R coilover (at 1.6f and 1.3r drop) too harsh for a daily commuter car? What about Koni coilovers? The Koni's seem to be the only sub $1k units out there. Is an Eibach Pro-System a better choice for a daily commuter? I dont want to autocross this car, but I live off Mulholland...
3) anti-roll bar kits - seen a few listed for Quattros...will these fit on a 2WD? Any favorites for adjustable kits that fit a 2WD?
4) Are there any other must do/must have suspension components that I should be thinking about?
Thanks for helping this newbie get up to speed. Cheers!

I modded my suspension by installing BBS 18x8 wheels and Eibach Pro-kits...
I'm completely happy with the setup. Lowered the stock suspension about 1". Between the 225/40 tires and the stiffer springs, all the unwanted sway and squish is gone, but the ride is not too harsh. (Slightly too harsh for my wife, which is a good thing.) I've heard some of the coilovers make it too harsh for some tastes. (Besides, the Eibachs only cost $600 installed...) I don't have the wheel offset info at hand, but I'm sure a search of the forum will get you the answer. Good luck!
