Default 2.0 TDI vs 2.7 TDI vs 3.0 TDI

Hi,

I'm planning to change my A6 C5 to an A6 C6.

However, I am not really able to decide which one I should choose. As my current car is a 2.5 TDI - Multitronic (2003), I want a TDI again for sure.
Please write me down the Pros and Cons about the following topics:

1. TDI Engine.

Criteria: Engine strenght / pricing of the parts

I. 3.0 TDI - 224HP
II. 2.7 TDI - 180HP
III. 2.0 TDI - 140HP

2. Transmittion (dont want triptonic)

Criterias: chance to trans. issues... / pricing if st went wrong

I. Manual
II. Multitronic (only comes with the 2.7 TDI Engine afaik)

3. Quattro or not.

Crit:
Im living in Hungary, snowing from dec to feb, but by the years passing, the snow is always become less. My current FWD car can handle it nicely.

Thanks In Advance,
Benjamin

With the oil prices low, does it still make sense to use diesel? In US between cost of diesel and maintanance it is cheaper to 3.2 L petrol engines for sure.
Also my Russian friends complained that A4 with diesel does not prodice enough heat to warm up the cabin. Given that Hungary not as cold as Russia, still did you have problem with heat from diesel engine?

I don't have a lot to say about TDI engines since we started getting them here in the US a year ago but you have all the stats. for the 3 of them and pick the one that fits your daily driving habits. if I have to pick one o the three I'd pick the 3.0tdi

Quattro or not? buying any FWD audi to me is wasting money just like buying a vegetarian cheese burger.

Could not agree more with this point. Why on earth would someone specifically by an Audi with non-Quattro? The primary reason people chose to look at Audi's is because of the legacy developed around their Quattro system. I had a discussion with a co-worker not long ago who was looking at a FWD B8 and I basically summed up that they are better off buying any other vehicle for that matter and that from a re-sale perspective they'll take a hit as well for not being Quattro...just my thoughts...
