2005 A6 3.2 FSI Quattro Issues
Hi All.
New poster so please be gentle with me.
I bought my car last Jan and fell in love straight away was a dream to drive either sat back relaxing or on occasion like i had just stole it.
The car came with 2 issues,
1 Parking Brake Malfunction,
2 Adaptive Headlight Malfunction.
Neither of theses was a major problem.
after 6 months the car has developed some strange behaviour.
Starts lovely on first turn of the key and when cold drives lovely.
as soon as the car has reached operating temp if i accelerate mildly i get a judder between 1500 and 2000 rpm. above 2000 and she is sweet as a nut or if i change down a gear using the flappy paddles.
So far the car has been in and out of my local garage so much its crazy.
The car was scanned with VCDS by an owner in swansea for the price of a curry.
only code that came up was camshaft position sensor implausible signal, so i replaced that with fingers crossed.
Nope didnt make any difference
So bit the bullet and went and bought VCDS myself in the hope of monitoring the car while i was on a long drive.

Since others have suggested the battery, I will suggest a plan based on hrc4u's suggestion and not assuming the battery is good or bad.

Here is what I would do:
Make sure the battery is fully charged using a trickle charger to make sure that before the is started there is a full charge even if there is a short somewhere that may be draining battery or the alternator isn't working properly.
Clear the errors on Address 02,03,09,56,61,76 to get rid of prior errors so only current issues are in the log.
Clear Address 01.
There are 2 errors that don't have timestamps, so need to find out when these get recorded as they are only 1 time errors.

Clear the errors on Address 02,03,09,56,61,76 to get rid of prior errors so only current issues are in the log.
Clear Address 01.
There are 2 errors that don't have timestamps, so need to find out when these get recorded as they are only 1 time errors.

18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30
P1602 - 000 - Voltage too Low - Intermittent
Fault Frequency: 1
18018 - Internal Control Module
P1610 - 000 - Memory Check Sum Error - Intermittent
Fault Frequency: 1
When the battery is fully charged, start the car, run another scan, and post the new log.

check health of battery with a refractometer! i have no errors but i have a bad battery though...my acid level is around 1.21 when checking with refractometer...and doesn't climb even if i charged it 2 days with a ctek xs25 charger....
lots of modules will not perform good if you have a bad battery... =)
