It has 71k miles on it, it is sending the code about the cracked hose mentioned in this thread, one rear light is out, the passenger side window will roll down, but not up from the driver side(it will from the passenger side door), and the air bag light is on. The girl who currently own the car said the airbag light has come on and off since she bought it.

This is a pretty nice vehicle, but I don't want to buy a problem. Thanks for the help.
Yes my car had the mentioned error codes but it was a simple fix of replacing a cracked hose. The vacuum lines that run tight up against the engine become brittle over time due to the heat and can eventually break. I simply cut the plastic run out and replaced with a heat resistant silicone hose which slid over the plastic at each end that I cut out. It takes a few days for the error code to go away, it has to see that the problem doesn't return after so many cycles. As far as 71k miles.....thats awesome. I bought mine with 81k miles and now I am at 110k and could not be happier, she's got another 100k to go....

Found the hose in my car is also broken. However I cannot see what it connects to. Does anyone know where the other end goes? A diagram, pics or instructions would be appreciated. I don't want to pay the stealership if I can avoid it. Help!!

Mine broke where the arrow is. Small PVC type plastic tubing gets brittle from the heat after so many years. I just replaced the whole run with Silicone rubber tubing. Codes took 2 days to clear after replacement.

Does anyone know what the diameter of the hose is? I want to replace with silicone and can't seem to find the information anywhere. Looks like about 4.5mm

Of course this is an old thread, but would anyone kindly point me in the direction of where I can find photos or diagrams of those hoses on the 4.2L V8? I'm getting the P2006 and P2007 codes on my S5 with the 4.2…

Thank you in advance.

Have many people changed out this plastic vacuum line on the 3.2L engine? The routing of the line is not so good, it runs right across the valve cover. Ours must have been in a semi-failed mode for a while and went to a complete failure within the past couple of days. The entire line broke into pieces like uncooked pasta when I removed it.

I suspect this problem is going to affect everyone. Our car is approaching 110k miles.

This is the fault I saw, MIL was switched on:

Default fix

I was getting same issue, finally took the car to the dealership becaise it had an extended warranty. Whole manifold had to be switched out.

I have the silicon line to replace the stupid plastic lines up front, just havent gotten to it yet.
