Default 2006 A6 Software update help? Please?

Hi Guys,

Recently my A6 started doing the mute button thing. Where you turn the radio on and it is in mute, and then you have to reboot the MMI to get it to play or turn the radio on and of via volume **** by pressing down on it.

I did disconnect the amp, and that helped a little bit. I used to have to reboot the MMI like 3-4 times to get it to function, now its just a matter of pressing down on the volume ****.

Anyways, I'm wondering if a software update will help with the issue. I also hear it's easy to do on your own.

My current version is C6-HU 6360 11.90 0513.

My bluetooth also started failing. I've been reading around about similar issues...seems like once folks update to 33.1 (I think) they usually lose these problems.

Audi says my entire bluetooth module failed....thousands....etc etc etc.

I'm a freaking school teacher. Thousands...right...

Anyways. Thoughts?

Matt

First of all, scan the car with vcds. Second, this is not normal. Find the cause of this issue as soon as you can. Because you can fail a module into your mmi loop. Is your carpet wet anywhere in your car? The bluethoot module is under the carpet in the driver side footwell. So if you have a water problem it could fail this module. The sign you descrid sound like this...

+1 on this. Remove your driver side seat and then check under the carpet, where your BT module is located, for dampness.

Also, I'd recommend you clean your sunroof drains or blockage, since this is one of the ways that water gets into your vehicle. Lastly, if you are not sure how to do any of the procedures stated - use the search function on the forum. good luck
